The purpose of this portfolio is to bring together the many aspects of classroom managements in order to create a more holistic view of what it is to be a teacher. This portfolio is the summation of the course Managing the Learning Environment, part of the Teacher Education Program at Montana State University and geared towards pre-service teachers as they begin and continue their practicum experiences.
This portfolio will cover a multitude of subject areas, which can all be found under the Contents page, all of which contribute in some way to the multifaceted subject of classroom management. Some subjects have to do with the idea of what it means to be working as a teacher in a school setting, where others get down to the application of management strategies.
After completing the course I have become more aware of all that truly goes into being an educator, and I am thankful to have had this insight as I go through my pre-service experience. I feel that it has set me up to be more aware and better understand many of the challenges of teaching I will face in my own career, and hopefully be better equip to tackle them. I am excited to spend more time in the classroom, working with students and continuing my professional development, with this class in my tool belt.
